The Initial Agreement and Deposit

After agreement, both parties sign the Purchase Agreement and the buyer deposits funds into escrow. The escrow agent (title company or attorney) holds funds and manages distribution at closing. Deposits may be held as consideration pending satisfaction of contingencies outlined in the contract.
